APPLICATION: metals sampling
SUGGESTED SOLUTION: inline disposable 0.45 micron filters
Waterra has developed the Waterra FHT-45 and FMT-45 Inline Disposable 0.45 Micron Filters for metals sampling.
The Waterra high turbidity FHT-45 Filter has 700 square centimetres of filter area and is designed with a compound inlet so as to accommodate both 3/8 inch (10 mm) and 1/2 inch (13mm) inside diameter tubing. This filter has been on the market for several years and has earned a reputation as a high quality, effective, inline filter. The lower cost base has allowed Waterra to pass on savings to its customers.
The FHT-45 Filter was designed to work with the Waterra Inertial Pumping System, but can be used with most any pumping system that can adapt to the inlet dimensions. In addition, the Waterra FHT-45 Filter can be used with Waterra Disposable Bailers.
Waterra's medium turbidity Waterra FMT-45 Filter has all of these great features as well, but with a reduced surface area at 300 sq. cm. These filters provide an economical alternative for lower turbidity sampling, when the highest possible capacity is not required.
Complete the applicable pre-sampling protocol, whether it be the classic "purge three well volumes" or, "pump until stability of well water parameters is achieved", or other protocol using the Waterra Inertial Pumping System. When ready to collect the metals sample, insert the Waterra FHT-45 Filter up into the Waterra Tubing and continue pumping. The water will flow around, then through the pleated membrane and out through the discharge outlet of the filter. Simply direct this flow into the appropriate sample container. A new filter should be used on each well so as to prevent cross contamination issues.
