Ecobailers are made of clear virgin PVC with a density of 1.31 whereas most disposable bailers are made of polyethylene which has a specific gravity of 0.96 to 0.98. PVC is also transparent whereas polyethylene is translucent, because of this, when you use the Waterra EcoBailer you can inspect your sample while it's still in the bailer.

adapts to disposable filters

All Waterra Clear PVC EcoBailers are easily adapted to the Waterra FHT-45 Disposable Groundwater Filter for collection of samples for metals analysis directly from the bailer. A short length of 1/4" OD or 1/2” OD LDPE tubing along with the bottom emptying spout can be used to easily connect the FHT-45 or FMT-45 inline disposable groundwater filter to the bailer. This allows the bailed sample to flow by gravity directly through the filter and into a sample container. In many cases a 1 litre sample can be filtered in under 2 minutes using this method.

Waterra's Weighted Polyethylene EcoBailers use the same design as our popular Clear PVC EcoBailers. They features a thicker tube wall than competing models. As a result, Polyethylene EcoBailers are less likely to bend when handled. Bent bailers will oscillate when travelling down the well column and they will sink more slowly.

These bailers are designed with a special valve and valve seat to provide more positive sealing and less clogging when removing the bailer from the well. All Waterra bailers come with the handy bottom emptying spout. It assists in collecting non-aerated samples from the valve end of the bailer, which is ideal for VOC sample collection.

The Waterra Clear PVC Hydrocarbon Recovery EcoBailer is an eco-friendly product that is designed to help you remove the L.N.A.P.L, floating hydrocarbon product from your monitoring wells without removing water as well. The Hydrocarbon Recovery EcoBailer uses a specially designed ball which floats in water but sinks in in hydrocarbons. The Hydrocarbon Recovery EcoBailer is made from the same durable, rigid PVC as the regular Waterra Clear PVC EcoBailer and so has all the same great qualities.
